Choir 2012

Frequently asked questions

When and where does the choir rehearse?

The Salt Lake Symphonic Choir rehearses on Thursday nights from 7:00-9:00 p.m.  For our Christmas season, we rehearse from the beginning of September to the middle of December, and for our spring season, we start again in early January and continue until the spring concert series, often held in May.
Rehearsals are currently held in the Choir Room at Olympus High School
4055 S 2300 E, Holladay, UT 84124

What commitments are expected of members?

Choir Members are expected to maintain a 75% attendance record for weekly rehearsals over a season, and must be in attendance for dress rehearsals and concerts.  Learning music at home between rehearsals will also be necessary, and to assist, the choir will provide practice recordings.
Choir Members are expected to pay annual dues, split between a fall payment and a spring payment.

How often does the Salt Lake Symphonic Choir perform?

The choir usually performs two concerts in each of its Christmas and Spring seasons, with occasional additional performances, often in collaboration with local orchestras and other musical organizations.

Do members have any financial obligation to the choir?

An annual membership contribution helps us pay for sheet music, venue hire, and the professional musicians we employ for concerts. This season, membership is $100 per Christmas or Spring semester.
Concert wardrobes are purchased directly from the choir.  The women’s complete wardrobe is currently $100, and the men’s is $150.
